Welcome to the Sartwell Unit

Membership Information

The Sartwell Unit welcomes anyone who is interested in learning the basics and beyond of parliamentary procedure as follows:

  • Provisional member - those individuals interested in learning the basics of parliamentary procedure. There is no age limit to quality as a provisional (student) member. Provisionals are not members of NAP.

  • Primary member - has passed the NAP membership exam and has demonstrated a working knowledge of RONR.

  • Affiliate - has primary membership in another unit and wishes to become a Sartwell member also.

Sartwell offers all of its members the opportunity through continuing education to attain Registered and Professional Registered Parliamentarian status.

We invite you to visit during one of our regular meetings to meet our members.

SARTWELL HISTORY

The Sartwell Unit was organized on January 26, 1960. NAP chartered the unit in 1969. It is the oldest, active unit in the District of Columbia Association of Parliamentarians.
