Detroit Unit
Welcome to the website of the Detroit Unit of Parliamentarians. Located in Detroit, our mission is to provide education and leadership growth to the residents of the greater Detroit area.
Detroit Unit members have a wide variety of interests and experience, from members who are just beginning their study of parliamentary procedure to professional parliamentarians who have worked with a number of for-profit and non-profit organizations.
We encourage anyone who would like to learn more about holding effective meetings, serving as an officer of an organization, improving an organization's bylaws, running elections, or other topics to join us at one of our meetings and meet our members.
Meetings
The Detroit Unit meets on the fourth Saturday of each month. We meet at 10:00 AM at the Employment and Training Building, 707 West Milwaukee (2nd Floor Conference Room). Our meetings include a business meeting, an educational program, and a parliamentary roundtable where members and guests describe challenging situations that they have encountered in meetings?or are expecting to encounter in a meeting soon?and the group discusses alternatives for handling the situation.
Guests are always welcome, and we offer provisional membership to members of the community who are thinking about learning more and would like to benefit from member privileges.
