The National Parliamentarian

The National Parliamentarian is NAP’s official publication. Published four times per year, each issue of the NP provides readers with insightful, up-to-date information on parliamentary procedure and how it is applied to a variety of situations and needs.

Subscriptions are included in NAP membership. An annual subscription may also be purchased online, or by contacting NAP by e-mail at  or phone at (816) 833-3892.

Single issues may be purchased from NAP Headquarters. Availability of back issues is limited; contact NAP to verify availability and place your order.

Want to read the National Parliamentarian online or on your mobile device, visit the NP on Issuu.

Contributing to the National Parliamentarian

Both NAP members and non-members are encouraged to submit articles for publication. Feature articles, educational articles, and news regarding NAP associations, units, members, or items of general parliamentary interest are welcome. Contributors are also encouraged to submit photographs to accompany news articles; these may be included as space permits.

Submission Guidelines
Published articles will be edited to conform to the current edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. Articles may be edited for content and length. The National Parliamentarian generally publishes original works that have not been published elsewhere. Submitted articles and photographs must be accompanied by an Assignment of Copyright Form (available in the Documents section) so NAP and the author understand who owns the copyright for the original work and whether or not it may be included in reprints, collections of articles, or other publications.

Article text should be submitted on CD or via e-mail attachment in Word or RTF format. Illustrations, photographic prints, and high quality digital photos are welcome. Digital photos should be provided at a minimum of 800 x 600 resolution.

Materials submitted cannot be returned unless special arrangements are made in advance. Contact the editor Rosalie Stroman, PRP, if you’re interested in contributing articles or photos to the magazine.
