NAP began offering parliamentary training courses online in 2008 with its introductory course, “Minutes Made Easy.” This course provides a convenient, flexible way for people to learn essential information about what should be in the minutes and how to prepare ahead of time to make the job easy.
Basic Parliamentary Procedure Independent Learning Internet Course
For a comprehensive introduction to effective meeting procedure, consider NAP’s distance learning course, Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure: Dynamics of Leadership, offered through a partnership with the University of Wisconsin. Topics include:
- basic principles and procedures
- business meetings
- classes of motions
- main motions and resolutions
- subsidiary, privileged, and incidental motions
- duties of officers
- business in boards and committees
Students who successfully complete the course are eligible for NAP membership without further testing, and also receive 14 continuing education units (CEUs) from University of Wisconsin Independent Learning.
