Contributing to the National Parliamentarian
Both members and non-members of the National Association of Parliamentarians are encouraged to submit articles for publication. Feature articles, educational articles, and news regarding NAP associations, units, members, or items of general parliamentary interest are welcome. Contributors are also encouraged to submit photographs to accompany news articles; these may be included as space permits.
Submission Guidelines
Published articles will be edited to conform to the current edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. Articles may be edited for content and length.
The National Parliamentarian generally publishes original works that have not been published elsewhere. Submitted articles and photographs must be accompanied by an assignment of copyright form (available on the Documents page) so that both NAP and the author understand who owns the copyright for the original work and so that NAP understands whether or not it may be included in reprints, collections of articles, or other publications.
Article text should be submitted on CD-ROM or via e-mail attachment in Word or RTF format. The editor may require that an article submitted electronically be re-sent on hardcopy. Illustrations, photographic prints, and high quality digital photos are welcome. Digital photos should be provided at a minimum of 800 x 600 resolution.
Materials submitted cannot be returned unless special arrangements are made in advance with the editor.
