150 Years of Order: Celebrating the Legacy and Future of Robert’s Rules
RONR 150th Anniversary Webinar
The National Association of Parliamentarians will host a free 90-minute Zoom Webinar celebrating the 150th anniversary of Robert’s Rules of Oder. This program is our centerpiece event for Parliamentary Law Month.
The Event Will Include
The History of Robert’s Rules of Order (30 min) — Martyn Robert Redgrave, President of
Robert’s Rules Association and direct lineal descendent of General Henry Martyn Robert, and
Thomas “Burke” Balch, coordinating author of the RONR, Newly Revised Authorship Team will
trace 150 years of parliamentary history, from General Henry M. Robert and the 1876 first edition
through the 12th Edition. Topics include the origin story, the evolution of the text across editions,
the formation and stewardship role of the RRA, and the global reach of RONR in American civic
and organizational life.
A leadership panel on how NAP uses and teaches RONR, with member spotlights from
parliamentarians across diverse practice settings, and a ceremonial acknowledgment of the
milestone.
